Discount retailer Dollar General on Monday recalled instant coffee sold at its stores across the lower 48 states due to "the potential presence of glass."

The recall affects three lots of Clover Valley brand instant coffee in eight-ounce packages distributed and sold between July 9 and July 21.

The company said that a customer notified employees at a Dollar General about the problem. A recall notice said that no injuries had been reported as of Monday.

"Dollar General is actively investigating the source of the glass contamination and apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this product issue," the company said in the notice posted by the FDA.
