New York company Endico Potatoes said that it has recalled Endico brand peas and carrots and mixed vegetables products over potential contamination with listeria.
The products, packed in 2.5-pound clear plastic bags with the Endico label, were shipped through local distributors to locations in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland, Florida and the District of Columbia.
Pennsylvania officials identified a positive test for listeria at one of the company's distributors. No illnesses had been reported as of late last week.
Consumers were urged to return the products to the place of purchase for a refund.
"The company has ceased distribution of the product as FDA and the company continue their investigation as to what caused the problem," Endico officials said in a statement from the FDA.
