Gerber on Friday issued second press release about a recall originally announced in late January due to reports that the product in question was "still available for sale on some retailer shelves and online."
The baby food maker recalled select Soothe ‘n’ Chew Teething Sticks products after consumers reported a choking hazard posed to infants and young children. The company reiterated that consumers that have purchased the recalled items should return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
"We have been working with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration on this recall and will cooperate with them fully," the company said in a statement. "Again, we sincerely apologize for any concern or inconvenience this action represents to parents, caregivers and retail customers."
