HIRAM, Maine — Grandy Organics is voluntarily recalling "Gluten Free Honey Oat Granola" with lot code 231017-03459-1 because it may contain undeclared coconut.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to coconut run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction should they consume this product.
The affected lot of Gluten Free Honey Oat Granola was distributed to a food service distributor in Florida, a food processor in California, and direct to individual consumers in Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, and New York. This product was packed in 25 lb. cases containing (2) 12.5lbs bags with a UPC of 648960034590. This product was also packed in 3 lb. bags and sent direct to consumers.
After conducting a thorough tracing exercise, Grandy Organics discovered that the product potentially containing trace levels of coconut was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of coconut.
No allergic reactions related to this matter have been reported to date.
If consumers have an allergy or severe sensitivity to coconut, they should not consume the product and discard it immediately.
Grandy Organics has informed the FDA of this action.
