Chobani has raised $650 million to support its expanding U.S. production footprint, company officials announced last week.
The maker of Greek yogurt and other dairy and plant-based products said that the equity capital investments from “long-term oriented, industry thought leaders” would fund the previously announced expansion of its facility in Twin Falls, Idaho, and a new plant in Rome, New York.
Company officials called the campaign “an important milestone for Chobani.”
The $500 million Idaho project is scheduled to be completed and become operational later this year, while the $1.2 billion New York plant — its third in the U.S. — is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs.
