Coke Plans to Spend $10B in the U.S. by 2030

The projects will include expanded or new sites across production, distribution and administration.

The Coca-Cola Company plans to invest some $10 billion dollars across its U.S. operations over the next five years, company officials said this week.

The Atlanta-based beverage giant said that the projects would include new sites or expanded locations across its production, distribution and office operations between this year and 2030.

Some of the additions, the company noted, have already been announced, including projects in Colorado Springs, suburban Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Orlando, Upstate New York, Western Michigan, Central Minnesota and Birmingham, Alabama.

Coke, which makes its flagship cola as well as Minute Maid juice, Powerade sports drinks and Dasani bottled water among roughly 200 overall brands, made the announcement in a release outlining a recent study of its economic impact. The company says operations, and those of its bottling partners, combined to support nearly 1 million direct and indirect jobs, and contribute $85 billion dollars to the U.S.’s gross domestic product.

Coke President and CFO John Murphy said that the company, through its network and its investments, is “reinforcing the resilience of our system.”
