Hawaiian avocado growers will soon be allowed to ship avocados to 32 mainland states in the U.S. between November and March. Tom Benton, president of the Hawaii Avocado Association, sees this new market as a huge boon to the avocado industry in the state.

Hawaiian avocado growers will soon be allowed to ship avocados to 32 mainland states in the U.S. between November and March. Tom Benton, president of the Hawaii Avocado Association, sees this new market as a huge boon to the avocado industry in the state, saying,

"It has the potential of becoming a very strong part of Hawaii agriculture. I feel we could easily be on par with coffee or macadamia nuts or any other section of Hawaii agriculture."
