Eighty-five years after it began producing breakfast cereal, General Mills on Tuesday announced the debut of “the first resealable bag inside a traditional cereal box.”

Boxes of the Minnesota-based company’s Cheerios brand cereals now feature “Ziploc PantrySeal” in partnership with the SC Johnson-owned plastic bag brand.

In addition to keeping cereal fresher for longer, the company said that the design of the bag — which partially opens at the top into a “pour spout” — also makes the product easier to pour.

General Mills is manufacturing the newly overhauled packages of Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios in Buffalo, New York. Both varieties are available “exclusively” on Walmart’s website, but will roll out to other retailers nationwide in “the coming months.”

“Cheerios with Ziploc PantrySeal takes a small, everyday cereal frustration and finally gives consumers the simple solution they’ve been asking for,” General Mills Vice President and Business Unit Director for Cheerios Emilie Knox said in a statement.
