Lubrication Engineers (Wichita, KS) has announced the release of its Xport Star Vario Long Range lubrication system, an advanced automatic single-point lubricator that combines precise electromechanical lubrication with secure LoRaWAN wireless communication to help industrial facilities improve equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency. The system operates fully automatically and independent of temperature and pressure, delivering highly precise lubricant discharge to critical components.
The Xport Star Vario Long Range lubrication system consists of a reusable electromechanical drive, battery pack and lubrication cartridge (LC) available in 60, 120, 250 or 500 cc, providing pressure buildup up to 109 psi (7.5 bar) for reliable delivery even in demanding applications. It is designed for single-point lubrication of roller and sliding bearings, sliding guides, open gears, gear racks, spindles, shaft seals, chains and electric motors with specified lubricant quantities, helping to prevent under- and over-lubrication. Users can select flexible discharge periods from one to 26 weeks or up to 12 months, depending on LC size and application requirements.
With integrated LoRaWAN technology, the system can be monitored and controlled remotely via the perma Connect app and a LoRa Gateway, which can support up to 2,000 lubricators and receive data from up to eight lubricators simultaneously within a radius of up to 1.2 miles (2 km), depending on site conditions. The system uses standard radio technology and 128‑bit AES end-to-end encryption. It checks for new commands at least once per hour and sends messages on every status change including operating status, timestamp, date, ambient temperature and fill level percentage.
By enabling configuration, control and maintenance from safe, easily accessible locations, the Xport Star Vario Long Range lubrication system reduces the need to enter hazardous or hard-to-reach areas and supports higher equipment availability through cartridge exchange during running operation.
