ArmPro Semi-Automatic Sleeve Removal

The ArmPro™ Semi-automatic pneumatic paper bag sleeve debagger upgrade from AirTrim, Inc., is an efficiency enhancement to existing carrousel semi-automatic lid loading equipment (Rotofeeder ®*) in high speed canning operations. With this proven technology, waste paper bag sleeves are captured and pneumatically conveyed to a waste collection compactor or baler, reducing the fatigue that results from manual sleeve removal. With the limited range of arm motion required, employees noted an immediate reduction in arm stress compared to the overhead, manual removal of lid sleeves. Additionally, pneumatic conveyance of the waste sleeves improves operational efficiency because employees no longer have to manually carry waste paper bag sleeves to a waste collection point. Proven on high-speed carrousel semi-automatic lid loaders, the ArmPro™ is ideal for canning applications of all kinds, including beverage, fruits, vegetables, soups, motor oil, or wherever products are canned.
The ArmPro™ system uses a unique friction type feed belt to help lift and remove the waste paper bag sleeves off the can ends after insertion into the carrousel canning equipment. With this semi- automated system, an operator only raises the bag sleeve approximately 24 inches to feed it into the friction type feed belt. Once captured by the belt, the paper bag sleeves are pneumatically conveyed through overhead round steel ductwork to a separator, which accumulates them until a turbo dump valve releases them into the compactor. A vacuum blower provides the air stream to convey the paper bag sleeves through the system to the separator, and a dust filter at the exhaust outlet prevents dust and debris from entering the plant air.

The ArmPro™ semi- automatic pneumatic paper bag removal upgrade provides a more consistent and repetitive bag pull which reduces the number of lost lids and lessens the chance for errant lids becoming lodged in machinery, thus reducing maintenance and repair.

Custom ArmPro™ semi-automatic paper bag removal upgrades can be developed for virtually any carrousel semi-automatic lid loader in canning operations. The semi-automatic debagger upgrade has a minimal mounting foot print and can be mounted directly onto the top of a Rotofeeder®, not requiring additional floor space. Systems for single or multiple canning lines are available.
