Food company Rich’s has acquired the owner of the Uno Foods pizza brand from a private equity firm, company officials announced this week.
Rich Products Corp. said that the newly added Great Kitchens Food Company is North America’s largest maker of private-label, take-and-bake pizzas. Brynwood Partners established the business in 2020 to acquire Arytza pizza and flatbread; the company added Uno Foods in 2023.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. It includes Great Kitchens’ manufacturing plants in Romeoville, Illinois, Chicago Heights, Illinois, and Brockton, Massachusetts, as well as its workforce of about 1,000.
"As a major player in the food industry for more than 80 years, pizza has been an integral part of our business for over four decades," Kevin Spratt, president of Rich’s U.S.-Canada region, said in a statement. "We're always looking for new ways to enhance our pizza capabilities and this move is a game-changer for the industry.”
"Not only is Rich's a well-known leader in the pizza segment, but they bring the size and scale required for us to unlock new opportunities," said Great Kitchens CEO Admir Basic.
