Florida investment firm HighPost Capital announced Wednesday that it has made a "significant" investment in supplements brand Equip Foods.
HighPost officials said that Equip, established a decade ago by a former sports rehabilitation clinician, appeals to consumers looking for "simple, clean" supplement and food products — particularly in animal-based protein. The company's flagship product, Prime Protein, is a grass-fed beef protein powder that officials said is "high in nutrients, naturally dairy-free and easier to digest."
"As a first mover and category leader in the fast-growing grass-fed beef protein segment, Equip is well-positioned to capture significant growth opportunities as more Americans seek to increase protein consumption," HighPost CEO David Moross said in a statement.
Terms of the investment were not disclosed.
