Wine, Spirits Distributor Johnson Brothers to Acquire Texas Counterpart

The deal would include Maverick Beverage Company's operations in Texas, Arizona, Colorado and Florida.

Minnesota wine, spirits and beer distributor Johnson Brothers on Tuesday announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the operations of Texas distributor Maverick Beverage Company in its home state as well as Arizona, Colorado and Florida.

The deal would add approximately 400 Maverick employees to Johnson Brothers; Maverick's operations in Minnesota and Illinois are not included in the transaction.

Additional details, including financial terms and a potential closing date, were not disclosed in the announcement.

“We are excited to welcome their talented team and begin serving the great suppliers they work with today," Johnson Brothers Chairman Michael Johnson said in the announcement. "The Maverick acquisition is a priority for our long-term growth, and we look forward to building on their outstanding success.”
