Bakery ingredients provider Puratos and automation developer AMF Bakery Systems announced the debut of a new “state-of-the-art” pilot bakery in New Jersey.

The companies held a grand opening ceremony for the facility — located at Puratos’ Pennsauken, New Jersey, U.S. headquarters — on Monday.

Officials said the hub features cutting-edge equipment, “co-creation” spaces, and demonstration and training areas for collaboration between Puratos technical staff and its customers. Bakeries will be able to test and adjust their recipes while reducing costs related to line testing and “trial-and-error.”

Ultimately, Puratos and AMF say that they hope to accelerate innovation for commercial bakeries across North America.

"We are pleased to extend our partnership with AMF to develop this unique pilot bakery line in the U.S., allowing our customers to innovate faster,” Puratos CEO Pierre Tossut said in a statement. “We will continue to develop our partnerships across the globe and look forward to extending further collaborations with equipment suppliers that move the industry forward."
