RIDGELAND, Miss. (AP) — Cal-Maine Foods Inc. on Tuesday reported fiscal first-quarter net income of $125.3 million after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Mississippi-based company said it had net income of $2.57.
The egg producer posted revenue of $658.3 million in the period.
Cal-Maine shares have risen 63% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $60.46, a climb of 66% in the last 12 months.
