SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) β South Dakota's row crop harvest continued to progress last week, with nearly all of corn for grain harvested.
The U.S. Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop and weather report that 96 percent of the corn for grain has been harvested, up from 90 percent the previous week. This is above the five-year average of 34 percent.
The harvest of sorghum was also at 96 percent, up from 74 percent from a week earlier and outpacing the five-year average of 56 percent.
Cattle conditions were rated at 68 percent good to excellent, 27 percent fair and 5 percent poor.
Precipitations fell over most of the state, with the northeastern portion of the state receiving 1 to 2 inches.
