Rockmart, Georgia-based Tip Top Poultry, Inc. is recalling an undetermined amount of ready-to-eat (RTE) poultry products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) made the announcement. The recall pertains to over 70 products produced for a number of companies, including Butterball, Sysco and Perdue. The frozen, cooked, diced and shredded RTE chicken products were produced between January 21 and September 24, and shipped nationwide in packages primarily ranging from 10 to 30 pounds.

The problem was discovered when multiple samples of product produced positive test results for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Tip Top expanded the dates and scope of the recall out of an abundance of caution. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
