Frozen Blackberries

Oregon-based Townsend Farms, Inc. has notified Costco that a recent FDA test indicated that a domestic conventional frozen blackberry product manufactured by the company may be contaminated with Hepatitis A. This blackberry was used to produce the Kirkland Signature Three Berry Blend product with Best By Dates between February 16, 2020, and May 4, 2020.

Costco only sold the product in stores located in California and Hawaii. No product manufactured for Costco by Townsend Farms has tested positive for Hepatitis A. The retailer states none of this potentially infected product is in its current inventory. Although not recall has been instituted, Costco has been notifying its members about the potential health risk.

According to the FDA and CDC there have been no customer illnesses reported to date.
