Sausage Company Issues Recall Due to Improper Inspections

The recall impacts 11 different varieties of imported meat and poultry sausage products.

Sikorski Sausages Co., Ltd., a London, Ontario, Canada establishment, is recalling approximately 11 different variety of imported meat and poultry sausage products that were not presented for import re-inspection into the United Sates. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service made the announcement.

The various ready-to-eat meat and poultry sausage items were imported on May 14, 2019 and shipped to a retail location in California. The collection of sausage and frankfurter products were sold in varying weights behind the deli or meat counter. The issue was detected during routine FSIS surveillance activities of imported products.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
