Cooked Chicken Breast

Decatur, Alabama-based Wayne Farms is recalling approximately 438,960 pounds of frozen, fully cooked chicken products that may be contaminated with small pieces of metal. According to the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the items in question were shipped to distributors, restaurants and further processing locations across the country.

The problem was discovered after a customer complaint on July 27. Wayne Farms investigated and notified FSIS of the findings on September 4. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions or injury. FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.
