The world’s leading dry pasta maker plans to expand its facility in western New York state, state and company officials announced Wednesday.

Barilla said that it will add a new main building and an additional warehouse facility in the $145 million first phase of construction at its campus in Avon, New York. The 52,000-square-foot main building, officials said, would accommodate new production and three packaging lines. A second phase of construction would add a second production line.

Barilla will invest nearly $170 million in total, and expects to add more than 90 jobs once the entire project is complete.

New York’s economic development agency offered a tax incentive package worth up to $2.75 million to the company.

“This expansion marks an important step in our continued growth in the U.S. and underscores our commitment to the town of Avon,” Barilla Americas Supply Chain Vice President Fabio Pettenari said in the announcement.

Barilla, based in Italy, established the Avon operations in 2007. It also operates a facility in Iowa.

The first phase of construction is expected to be completed by March of 2028.
