The U.S. subsidiary of a Dutch food producer has opened its first domestic production facility in Upstate South Carolina, state and company officials announced.

Signature Foods USA said that it expects to invest $11.5 million in its new facility in Easley, South Carolina, where its operations are “already online.” The company expects to create more than 200 jobs at the plant.

Signature Foods’ U.S. division, headquartered in New York, produces refrigerated foods such as dips, spreads, meats, cheeses, wraps and rolls.

South Carolina economic development officials approved unspecified incentives related to the project, along with a $400,000 grant to the county to help fund infrastructure and water system improvements.

“We believe that this location in Easley will be the foundation for the long-term growth of our business in the U.S.,” Signature Foods USA CEO Peter Dornbos said in the announcement.
