Yogurt maker Chobani plans to invest more than half a billion dollars to expand a West Michigan facility that produces coffee beverages for its La Colombe brand, company officials announced.

The company said last week that the “multi-phase” $567 million project would add more than 200,000 square feet to the Norton Shores, Michigan, plant and create an expected 337 jobs.

Chobani, which acquired the maker of ready-to-drink lattes in 2023, said that the expansion would help meet surging demand for La Colombe’s products. The coffee brand has had a manufacturing presence in Norton Shores for more than a decade.

“This is just the beginning of a beautiful journey together in West Michigan, and we're committed to being part of it for many years to come,” Chobani founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya said in a statement.
