Taste Test: RED Chocolate

Can a sugar-free chocolate bar actually taste good? Find out in our latest Taste Test.

According to a 2020 survey, 74% of consumers are trying to limit or avoid sugars in their diet.

Yet sweet treats still top the list of comfort foods, with chocolate being a recurring favorite with a notoriously high sugar content.

In the early 2000s, Chocolette Confectionary set out to develop a rich, delectable chocolate with fewer calories and no added sugar.

After years of refining the recipe, RED Chocolate was unveiled in Europe in 2016 and in the US market in 2019.

RED shared many flavors and styles of its sugar-free treats with the staff of Industrial Media.

RED’s indulgent, low-calorie chocolate is gluten-free, non-GMO, kosher, Keto and Weight Watchers-friendly, and made without palm oil (except pralines).

It is made with cocoa from the Ivory Coast of Africa, and it uses the natural sugar from the cocoa bean itself as well as naturally occurring sugars from fruits such as melons to lightly sweeten their recipe.

The company has received more than 10 invention patents in the process of developing RED’s signature flavors.
