The Wonka candy brand is poised to return after more than eight years, its owner announced this week.

Ferrero, which has owned the label since acquiring it alongside Nestle’s other U.S. candy holdings in 2018, unveiled a new collaboration with Netflix that would see Wonka brand products back on store shelves this fall.

The partnership coincides with the debut of a Netflix reality show inspired by the classic Roald Dahl novel. The streaming video service acquired the Roald Dahl Story Company in 2021 and plans to release an animated film, “Charlie vs. The Chocolate Factory,” next year.

Additional details about the new candy products were not disclosed.

“For generations, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory has been part of popular culture,” Ferrero Group Premium Chocolate President Alessandro Rapali said in a statement. “Our ambition is to apply the Ferrero lens to the Wonka universe and to bring fresh new energy to the seasonal aisle.”
