Snacks maker Utz said Tuesday that it plans to phase out its use of synthetic color additives, known as FD&C colors, from its product lineup by 2027.

The company joins several others that have pledged to eliminate FD&C colors amid a broader push against them from the Trump administration.

Utz officials said in the announcement that 80% of its portfolio already does not contain synthetic colors, and that several of its brands do not contain them at all. The Pennsylvania-based company makes Utz brand snacks as well as Zapp’s and Boulder Canyon chips and On the Border chips and dips.

“As consumer tastes and government regulatory initiatives evolve, we adapt while staying true to the flavors and traditions people love,” the company said in a statement.
