Perdue Foods LLC., which operates out of Bridgewater, Virginia, is recalling approximately 31,703 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of bone material. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) made the announcement.
The 11.2 and 12-ounce plastic trays of fully cooked Simply Smart Organic breaded chicken breast tenders, nuggets and strips, as well as the 10-pound bulk boxes of Chef Quik breaded chicken tenders, strips and patties were produced on March 21 and shipped to retail locations nationwide.
The problem was discovered after FSIS and the company received consumer complaints. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
