FREMONT, Neb. (AP) — Hormel Foods is selling its eastern Nebraska pork processing plant to a company owned by 220 farmers and other ag producers.
Hormel said Thursday that its workforce at the Fremont facility will remain place after it completes the sale to WholeStone Farms.
The sales terms weren't disclosed. The deal is expected to be completed in December.
The plant produces Spam, sausages and other items.
Under the sales agreement, the plant will continue to provide Hormel with pork.
