Elopak announced Wednesday that it has officially opened its first U.S. carton manufacturing plant in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Company officials said the $100 million facility will produce Pure-Pak brand cartons for liquid dairy products, juices, plant-based drinks and liquid eggs. It employs 100 people.
Plans for the facility at the Port of Little Rock were first announced in mid-2023. Last fall — while the plant was under construction — Elopak announced that it would add a second production line after its initial capacity "sold out." That line is expected to be operational next year.
Elopak CEO Thomas Körmendi said in the announcement that the plant would help meet "unprecedented" growth in demand for the company's "low-carbon, sustainable" cartons in the North American market.
“We have built a unique and strong foothold in the North American market," Körmendi said. "Elopak now has several production plants covering the continent from north to south.
