Nestlé on Wednesday announced the launch of a lineup of KitKat brand chocolate bars in Europe.
The Swiss food giant said the debut of KitKat "tablets" aims to "capture the growing demand for indulgent and shareable chocolate experiences." The company added that the tablet is the second most-popular "chocolate format" in the European market.
"Consumer insights reveal a significant opportunity to enhance the appeal of filled tablets," Stefano Agostini, head of confectionery for Nestlé's Zone Europe, said in a statement. "The new KitKat tablets are breaking the codes of the more conservative tablet segment and making them more attractive to younger shoppers, which should drive growth."
The new tablets come in double chocolate, hazelnut and salted caramel flavors.
