The new Quadro® HV-Emulsifier and Wet Mill protects against the effects of oxidation. The two-in-one mill is available in two configurations: either as the HV-Emulsifier for submicron emulsions or as the HV-Wet Mill for micronizing suspensions and slurries. The series overcomes difficulties in processing EPA/DHA additives by creating submicron emulsions that manipulate light and avoid photo-oxidation. Without the use of thickening agents, the series creates stable, homogeneous products, improves ingredient fortification efficiency and offers manufacturers the potential to expand their range of functional food applications. Additional benefits of submicronized emulsions include improvements to taste and odor reduction of Omega-3-based foods and beverages. Its high-speed design enables accelerated rotor-stator velocities and an exponential increases in available shear energy. At a maximum rotational speed equivalent to 70 m/s, it produces more than 55 times the high shear energy of a conventional rotor-stator mill.
