California safety product provider Front Line Safety plans to add a new distribution center in Kansas City, company and Missouri officials announced last week.

The company said it would invest $1.7 million in the 113,000-square-foot facility, and that it expects to create 21 jobs at the campus. It is expected to open next month.

Front Line officials said the new location would bolster its reach to customers throughout North American and in the Midwest in particular.

“After an extensive nationwide search, Kansas City emerged as the clear choice for our next phase of growth,” Front Line Chairman and CEO Joe Bratter said in the announcement. “The region’s unmatched multimodal infrastructure, strong and reliable workforce, and central geographic location create an ideal environment for a modern distribution operation that can efficiently serve our customers.”

Missouri officials awarded a tax incentive package that could be worth over $230,000 to support the project.

Front Line says it offers more than 3,000 safety products and services to companies across the industrial, institutional, hospitality and foodservice sectors.
