Natural Grocers Recalls 2 Dark Chocolate Products

Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets, Inc., a Lakewood, CO-based natural grocery chain, is recalling Natural Grocers brand 8 ounce Almond Clusters Dark Chocolate Non-GMO and 8 ounce Peanut Clusters Dark Chocolate Non-GMO because the products contains undeclared peanut and almond allergens, respectively. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds or peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. Consumers who may have purchased this product are advised to discontinue use and either throw it away or return it to the store for credit or refund.

The recalled product is packaged in clear plastic bags weighing 8 ounces and bearing the “Natural Grocers” label. For the almond clusters, pack dates between 2019 and 20-035 are being recalled at this time, while peanut clusters pack dates between 2019 and 20-048 are being recalled.

For both products, there have been no reports of illness or injury to date, but Natural Grocers is acting out of an abundance of caution to notify consumers and recall any of the affected product in the marketplace.
