Frozen Pet Food Recalled Over Listeria Concerns

Making the recall a bit more difficult is the fact that the products in question do not contain any lot identification, batch codes or expiration dates.

Hungry Doggie

Stanwood, Washington-based Thogersen Family Farm is voluntarily recalling raw, frozen ground pet food because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Two-pound packages of course ground rabbit, course ground mallard duck, ground llama and ground pork frozen raw pet food are subject to the recall.

Pets with Listeria monocytogenes infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea, fever and vomiting. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. Making the recall a bit more difficult is the fact that the products in question do not contain any lot identification, batch codes or expiration dates. No illnesses have been reported to date.
