More Than 23 Tons of Rice Recalled

The problem was discovered by the manufacturer during a label inventory check.

Harvest Food Group, Inc., which is based out of Chicago, is recalling approximately 47,332 pounds of Not Ready-To-Eat (NRTE) chicken fried rice products due to a labeling error. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service made the announcement. The products contain milk, which is not declared on the product label.

The products in question were produced on November 12, 2018, December 4, 2018 and December 5, 2018. The recall pertains to nine-ounce packages of Yakitori Seasoned Chicken Fried Rice. The items in question were shipped to retail locations in Illinois and Michigan.

The problem was discovered by the firm during a label inventory check. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
