Cyberattack at Dole Leads to Shutdown, Delays

It wreaked havoc earlier this month.

Dole has revealed a previously unreported hack that wreaked havoc earlier this month.

CNN cites a memo to retailers issued Feb 10th, where the senior vice president at Dole’s Fresh Vegetables division detailed the incident.

Emanuel Lazopoulos reportedly said Dole was “in the midst of a cyber attack and subsequently shut down our systems throughout North America.”

While the impact was characterized as “limited,” Dole still had to halt some shipments to grocery stores.

Some retailers complained that they were unable to stock Dole salad kits for several consecutive days.

A spokesperson for Dole confirmed to CNN that ransomware was employed in the attack.
