Illinois specialty and Class C component distributor S.W. Anderson Company has acquired a Minneapolis fastener and electromechanical component distributor, company officials said earlier this month.

S.W. Anderson officials said that its combination with Aero-Space Computer Supplies would allow it to extend a combined product portfolio and service lineup to its customers. ASCS, founded in 1963, is a factory-authorized stocking distributor serving the electronic enclosure, flex circuitry and power management markets.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Aero-Space's reputation in the industry as customer-first technical experts aligns closely with S.W. Anderson's value proposition,” S.W. Anderson President and CEO Jim Degnan said in an announcement posted by the National Fastener Distributors Association.

S.W. Anderson, headquartered in suburban Chicago, has nine distribution centers and sales offices across the U.S. and serves the automotive, aerospace, consumer goods and food and beverage industries, among others.

“Combining our excellent products and services with S.W. Anderson's manufacturer relationships and knowledge base will give ASCS customers a powerful partner — one with local, personalized service and high-tech products from international manufacturers,” added ASCS Vice President of Operations Dan Babich.
