Baked goods brand King’s Hawaiian plans to spend $54 million on an expansion of its suburban Atlanta plant, state and company officials announced Thursday.

The project will add a new production line at its 150,000-square-foot facility in Oakwood, Georgia, to manufacture additional flavors of the company’s β€œPretzel Bites.” It is expected to add more than 135 jobs at the plant in food safety, quality control, maintenance and management roles.

The new line is expected to begin operations in the second quarter of next year.

β€œThis expansion represents a major milestone in our journey, and we’re thrilled to continue growing our ohana in Hall County,” King’s Hawaiian CEO Mark Taira said in a statement.

The company, originally founded in Hawaii and now based in Southern California, began operations in Georgia in 2010. It currently has a workforce of more than 800 in the state.
