Newly Weds Foods plans to invest $30 million in its second facility in Tennessee, company and state officials announced Tuesday.
The Chicago-based food ingredients company, which dates back the debut of the ice cream cake roll in 1932, recently purchased a plant in Dyersburg formerly operated by Develey Mustard and Condiments Corp. The site will manufacture products for the company’s Newly Weds Condiments & Sauces affiliate.
Officials expect the project to create 50 jobs.
“Newly Weds Foods is excited to partner with TNECD in expanding our presence in the state of Tennessee and on becoming a corporate citizen of Dyersburg,” Newly Weds Foods President and CEO Brian Johnson said in a statement. “We look forward to engaging and growing with this historic community.”
Newly Weds operates another Tennessee facility near Chattanooga.
