Flexible film and bag manufacturer Mid South Extrusion will invest $12.5 million on another expansion of its Monroe, Louisiana, plant, state economic development officials announced.

The company plans to add two new polyethylene extrusion lines. The project follows the $17 million addition of two similar production lines last fall to meet growing consumer demand.

“This investment marks a strategic advancement in our capabilities — significantly increasing our production capacity and enabling us to better serve our customers with greater speed, consistency, and flexibility,” Mid South Extrusion Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing Mark Kent Anderson said in the statement. “It positions us to support our partners as they grow, expand into new markets, and meet evolving demands, further strengthening our role as a value-added partner to manufacturers and converters in the flexible packaging industry."

MSE’s latest expansion is expected to create 12 jobs at the plant; Louisiana Economic Development projects that it would result in another 26 indirect jobs in the Monroe area.
