Death Wish Coffee Co. recently rolled out a new variety of coffee with an even higher amount of caffeine.

The company said its new “Power Surge” coffee contains approximately 210 milligrams of caffeine per 6-ounce serving — a level 20% higher than its “Dark Roast” variety and more than double the amount in what’s considered a standard cup.

Death Wish said that the higher caffeine level results from a higher ratio of “premium Organic Robusta beans” in the blend, and noted that products with higher caffeine levels are “vastly outpacing general coffee growth.”

The company says it is the no. 1 brand of organic and Fair Trade coffee in the U.S.

"Our consumers count on us to push the boundaries of what a great cup of coffee can deliver, and they are always looking for that next level of natural fuel," Death Wish CEO Steve Gardiner said in last month’s announcement.
