Danone on Tuesday announced the launch of a new line of shelf-stable protein shakes under its Oikos brand.

Oikos Protein Shakes — the brand’s first foray outside the dairy aisle — contain 30 grams of protein, 5 grams of prebiotic fiber, no added sugar and no artificial sweeteners.

The lineup debuted in chocolate, vanilla and salted caramel flavors.

"Protein isn't just a necessity for gym-goers looking to up their gains — it's also for people with on-the-go lifestyles who are looking for an easy and convenient way to incorporate a nutritious protein boost into their everyday hustle," Rafael Acevedo, president and general manager of yogurt at Danone North America, said in a statement.
