After the demise of the Choco Taco, America could be on the lookout for a new frozen treat in the waning days of summer.
Oscar Mayer says it is stepping up to fill the void — in a few places, at least.
The Kraft Heinz subsidiary famous for its hot dog jingle partnered with frozen dessert maker Popbar to create the “Cold Dog.”
Company officials say the hot dog-flavored popsicle features the “smokey” and “umami” flavors of an Oscar Mayer wiener.
The side of the frozen bar, meanwhile, is adorned with a “mustard” swirl.
The Cold Dog will be available at Popbar locations in the Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta and New Orleans areas while supplies last.
The company also decked out its famed Wienermobile in frosted windows and icicles for the occasion.
No word on whether the unusual popsicle is a better way to beat the heat than a hot dog-turned-straw.
