Food Manufacturing's Recall Recap: Big Meat Recall Gets Way Bigger

Here's the food recall and health alerts issued from the FDA, USDA and CDC over this past week.

Massive Recall Expands for Ham & Pepperoni

On Dec. 5, Alexander & Hornung (St. Clair Shores, MI) recalled 234K lbs. of fully cooked ham and pepperoni products for Listeria risk, and that was significantly expanded to 2.32 million lbs. on Dec. 11. The products were produced on various dates and shipped to retail locations nationwide.


1,200 Lbs of Bologna

Erie Meat Products (Mississauga, Ontario) has recalled over 1,200 lbs. of fully cooked chicken bologna products that were imported and distributed into the U.S. without FSIS import reinspection. Imported on or around Nov. 15, the products were shipped to correctional institutions in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.


Baby Formula

BUBS Naturals (Encinitas, CA) has recalled certain lots of its Fountain of Youth Formula Collagen Protein for undeclared milk. It comes in a 10.16-oz. container and was distributed through the BUBS Naturals online store, Amazon and some grocery stores.


Croissant Sandwiches

Dakota Toms (Corsica, SD) has recalled its Chicken Salad Croissant because it may contain undeclared egg and milk allergens. It was distributed in South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and North Dakota convenient stores and vending machines.
