Fourth of July Beer Sales Powered by Record Number of Deliveries
BOSTON (PRNewswire) — Consumers thirsty for an ice cold beer over the Fourth of July holiday weekend turned to Drizly  in record numbers to have their beverages delivered.
Powered by an 83-percent lift in weekly beer sales, Drizly enjoyed a record week for demand of its alcohol delivery service across Boston, New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn and The Hamptons), Chicago and Los Angeles.
The Fourth of July is a critical week of business for brewers. According to the Wall Street Journal , "roughly a third of beer sales in the U.S. take place between Memorial Day and Labor Day, often making or breaking the year. The most critical week is that of July Fourth."
Paired with the convenience of fast delivery, beer brands enjoyed a record holiday week on Drizly. Thirteen of the top 20 brands delivered by Drizly were beers, including the top five, and beer comprised 39 percent of total sales. Craft beers made up 55 percent of all beers sold the during the holiday week.
