Frito-Lay Snacks Help PepsiCo Deliver Quarterly Profit

Stronger sales of Frito-Lay snacks helped PepsiCo deliver a quarterly profit that came in above Wall Street expectations on Wednesday. During the period, PepsiCo said revenue for its Frito-Lay North America division rose 3.5 percent, boosted by a mix of stronger volume and higher prices.


Mercury on Rise in Hawaiian Yellowfish

Mercury is a potent toxin that can accumulate to high concentrations in fish, posing a health risk to people who eat large, predatory marine fish such as swordfish and tuna. Mercury concentrations in Hawaiian yellowfin tuna are increasing at a rate of 3.8 percent or more per year, according to research that suggests rising atmospheric levels of the toxin are to blame.

Molson Coors Brewing Co. reported fourth-quarter earnings that fell short of Wall Street's forecasts. Its worldwide beer volume fell 0.3 percent. Molson Coors said a spate of issues including stronger U.S. currency will leave it with less free cash in 2015.


Capri Sun to Replace High-Fructose Corn Syrup With Sugar

Kraft Foods says it will start sweetening its Capri Sun drinks with sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup. The company says the change will apply to its original Cpari Sun drinks, and the number of calories will decrease from 60 per pack to 50.

MillerCoors CEO Plans to Retire in June

MillerCoors CEO Tom Long plans to retire from the brewer over the summer. The 56-year-old Long intends to retire on June 30 after serving as CEO since 2011. MillerCoors is a joint venture between SABMiller PLC and Molson Coors Brewing Co.
