General Mills Cuts Sales, Profit Outlook

The maker of Cheerios cereal, Yoplait yogurt and Progresso canned soups has cut its sales and earnings outlook for the year. General Mills says sales for its fiscal 2015 are expected to grow at a low-single-digit rate.

Applications For US Unemployment Fall to 278K

The Labor Department said that weekly applications fell 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 278,000. The four-week average, a less volatile measure, declined 2,250 to 279,000, the lowest level in more than 14 years.
