An Arizona ABC affiliate reported that Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly 3,000 pounds of marijuana, worth about $1.5 million, hidden in a shipment of watermelons.

A man attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border with the shipment was referred to am X-ray inspection of his truck, which revealed the hidden stash. Both the drugs and the truck were seized, and the driver was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
