According to Good, the European Union is considering paying fishermen to catch plastic trash. A pilot project is set to launch in the Mediterranean where fishermen will be provided with special equipment for catching plastic and bringing the trash back for recycling. If the project succeeds, the plastic trash may become a more valuable catch, improving the quality of fishing waters and helping the environment.
